The Mary Rose Foundation is our 501c3 nonprofit that helps fund treatment for people struggling with eating disorders. We also work to empower youth to love and accept themselves as they are through our education/outreach programs.

With every dollar you spend at Mary Rose, a portion goes to our nonprofit, helping end the stigma around mental health and providing life saving eating disorder treatment. 

Eating disorders are complex diseases.

The latest research shows that they are caused by a combination of biological, psychological, and social factors. They are not a choice.

⁣Decreasing the stigmas associated with eating disorders and mental health starts with recognizing they can and do occur in all people. You cannot tell if someone has an eating disorder by looking at them.

Humans Need Care 

Eating disorders have one of the highest mortality rates of all mental illnesses. Accessing treatment is expensive and difficult. 

Children Need Empowering 

The Mary Rose Foundation has developed an education/outreach program in our local high school that focuses on empowering young people identifying as females to love and accept themselves as they are.

Access To Treatment

Financial barriers to eating disorder treatment are high. For a person without insurance, residential eating disorder treatment costs between $1400-$2200 a day. This is not accessible.

A message from the founder

I started the Mary Rose Foundation about 6 months after opening the boutique. I wanted to do more. I wanted to impact change on a greater level. I have had a heart for people struggling with eating disorders since overcoming a 15 year battle with anorexia/bulimia over 10 years ago. I know the pain of feeling like there is no hope. Of wishing the pain would stop. Of not seeing a way out. That dark place of hopelessness and despair is what I remember most about my struggles with eating disorders. If it were not for a treatment facility, I do not think I would be here today. Treatment saved my life and it is unfortunately incredibly expensive. My parents had to take out a second mortgage on their house in order to pay for my treatment and I am forever grateful. It is now my hope to pay it forward and help people access lifesaving eating disorder treatment. Through the scholarships we give out and the education programs focused on empowering our youth, we are hopeful for a brighter tomorrow. Sending you all so much love. There is always hope. No matter how dark it seems, the pain will not last forever.
