How many times can I actually say "big news" and you ladies believe me? Well...I'm about to say it again. Not only is this big news...it's such happy, fulfilling, feel good news...
 
So you all (or at least most of you know) I also created the Mary Rose Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to helping fund eating disorder treatment for those that are suffering. Eating disorder treatment is insanely expensive and eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of all mental illness...half of these deaths are by suicide as well. The need for quality treatment is undeniable. The longer an ED goes on, the more challenging it is to recover. I suffered for 15 years. 15 years. My entire adolescence and early adulthood was spent in and out of the hospital and various treatment centers.According to statistics, I should not be where I am today...happy, healthy, and in recovery. I have been in recovery for 10 years now and I owe my life to the treatment centers that saved me (well actually my parents for putting me in there). The financial burden was overwhelming. My parents had to take out a second mortgage on their house for my treatment, to save my life. And that is why this cause is so near and dear to my heart.
 
Through the Mary Rose Foundation, we are giving people suffering with eating disorders a chance. A chance to get the treatment they need. Access to treatment is very limited and the cost is outrageous. I mean seriously outrageous. The Mary Rose Foundation works with different treatment centers to raise funds for sufferers. We put on 2 fundraising events a year, but guess what...I feel like we can do more.
 
So with that being said...
 
Mary Rose NW Boutique is now donating a portion of all sales to the Foundation. A portion of all the sales will go towards giving a person suffering a second chance at life, giving them the tools they need to stand up against their ED and fight...most of all...giving them hope. Hope that life doesn't have to hurt so much. Hope that there is another way. Hope that recovery is possible.
